So as of now I have direction but I am still unsure of many details.
What I know I want: to frequently gather data from some form of online blogging/journaling site (or several) and somehow create an ever-changing map of connections between the documentations of the masses.
What I don't know: what site I should use, what variables will determine the connection, and how I am going to display this map.

communication
When i was in greece this summer, we had an assignment in which we journaled for 30 minutes about the experiences we had encountered thus far. Afterwards we were told to pick out specific key words throughout our journal entry and connect them using different colored lines, depending on the word and the relations to the other words. This exercise created a beautiful map across the page.
Some of the art I have seen in this class reminds me of this exercise. I very much like the idea of taking something that I would consider more organic, like creative writing, dissecting it and breaking it down to mere data, and then reverting these cold, lifeless variables back into something emotive.
Originally I thought to perhaps dissect some of my own writing and organize the data to visually document my thoughts. But I began to become much more intrigued with the idea of combining the writings of many. The idea of displaying visual connections of the masses became much more appealing and also seemed to be a better fit conceptually with this idea of a "map". Fortunately for me, my generation is obsessed with the frequent documentation and sharing of any thoughts, interests, beliefs, and feelings (facebook, myspace, twitter, fml, etc).
